Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem: praise thy God, O Sion.

Lauda, Jerusalem, Dominum; lauda Deum tuum, Sion.

Praise the Lord, Jerusalem; Sion, exalt thy God!

Because he hath strengthened the bolts of thy gates, he hath blessed thy children within thee.

Quoniam confortavit seras portarum tuarum; benedixit filiis tuis in te.

He it is that bolts thy gates fast, and blesses thy children, who dwell safe in thee;

Who hath placed peace in thy borders: and filleth thee with the fat of corn.

Qui posuit fines tuos pacem, et adipe frumenti satiat te.

that makes thy land a land of peace, and gives thee full ears of wheat to sustain thee.

Who sendeth forth his speech to the earth: his word runneth swiftly.

Qui emittit eloquium suum terræ: velociter currit sermo ejus.

See how he issues his command to the earth, how swift his word runs!

Who giveth snow like wool: scattereth mists like ashes.

Qui dat nivem sicut lanam; nebulam sicut cinerem spargit.

Now he spreads a pall of snow, covers earth with an ashy veil of rime,

He sendeth his crystal like morsels: who shall stand before the face of his cold?

Mittit crystallum suam sicut buccellas: ante faciem frigoris ejus quis sustinebit?

doles out the scattered crusts of ice, binds the waters at the onset of his frost.

He shall send out his word, and shall melt them: his wind shall blow, and the waters shall run.

Emittet verbum suum, et liquefaciet ea; flabit spiritus ejus, et fluent aquæ.

Then, at his word, all melts away; a breath from him, and the waters flow!

Who declareth his word to Jacob: his justices and his judgments to Israel.

Qui annuntiat verbum suum Jacob, justitias et judicia sua Israël.

This is the God who makes his word known to Jacob, gives Israel ruling and decree.

He hath not done in like manner to every nation: and his judgments he hath not made manifest to them. Alleluia.

Non fecit taliter omni nationi, et judicia sua non manifestavit eis. Alleluja.

Not such his dealings with any other nation; nowhere else the revelation of his will. Alleluia.
