| Alleluja. | Alleluia. | (Alleluia.) |
| 1 Laudate Dominum de cælis; laudate eum in excelsis. | 1 Praise ye the Lord from the heavens: praise ye him in the high places. | 1 Give praise to the Lord in heaven; praise him, all that dwells on high. |
| 2 Laudate eum, omnes angeli ejus; laudate eum, omnes virtutes ejus. | 2 Praise ye him, all his angels, praise ye him, all his hosts. | 2 Praise him, all you angels of his, praise him, all his armies. |
| 3 Laudate eum, sol et luna; laudate eum, omnes stellæ et lumen. | 3 Praise ye him, O sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars and light. | 3 Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, every star that shines. |
| 4 Laudate eum, cæli cælorum; et aquæ omnes quæ super cælos sunt, | 4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens: and let all the waters that are above the heavens | 4 Praise him, you highest heavens, you waters beyond the heavens. |
| 5 laudent nomen Domini. Quia ipse dixit, et facta sunt; ipse mandavit, et creata sunt. | 5 praise the name of the Lord. For he spoke, and they were made: he commanded, and they were created. | 5 Let all these praise the Lord; it was his command that created them. |
| 6 Statuit ea in æternum, et in sæculum sæculi; præceptum posuit, et non præteribit. | 6 He hath established them for ever, and for ages of ages: he hath made a decree, and it shall not pass away. | 6 He has set them there unageing for ever, given them a law which cannot be altered. |
| 7 Laudate Dominum de terra, dracones et omnes abyssi; | 7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye dragons, and all ye deeps: | 7 Give praise to the Lord on earth, monsters of the sea and all its depths; |
| 8 ignis, grando, nix, glacies, spiritus procellarum, quæ faciunt verbum ejus; | 8 Fire, hail, snow, ice, stormy winds, which fulfil his word: | 8 fire and hail, snow and mist, and the storm-wind that executes his decree; |
| 9 montes, et omnes colles; ligna fructifera, et omnes cedri; | 9 Mountains and all hills, fruitful trees and all cedars: | 9 all you mountains and hills, all you fruit trees and cedars; |
| 10 bestiæ, et universa pecora; serpentes, et volucres pennatæ; | 10 Beasts and all cattle: serpents and feathered fowls: | 10 all you wild beasts and cattle, creeping things and birds that fly in air; |
| 11 reges terræ et omnes populi; principes et omnes judices terræ; | 11 Kings of the earth and all people: princes and all judges of the earth: | 11 all you kings and peoples of the world, all you that are princes and judges on earth; |
| 12 juvenes et virgines; senes cum junioribus, laudent nomen Domini: | 12 Young men and maidens: let the old with the younger, praise the name of the Lord: | 12 young men and maids, old men and boys together; let them all give praise to the Lord’s name. |
| 13 quia exaltatum est nomen ejus solius. | 13 for his name alone is exalted. | 13 His name is exalted as no other, |
| 14 Confessio ejus super cælum et terram; et exaltavit cornu populi sui. Hymnus omnibus sanctis ejus; filiis Israël, populo appropinquanti sibi. Alleluja. | 14 The praise of him is above heaven and earth: and he hath exalted the horn of his people. A hymn to all his saints to the children of Israel, a people approaching to him. Alleluia. | 14 his praise reaches beyond heaven and earth; and now he has given fresh strength to his people. Shall not his faithful servants praise him, the sons of Israel, the people that draw near to him? Alleluia. |
