Unto the end, for the sons of Core.

(To the choir-master. Of the sons of Core. A psalm.)

Omnes gentes, plaudite manibus; jubilate Deo in voce exsultationis:

O clap your hands, all ye nations: shout unto God with the voice of joy,

Clap your hands, all you nations, in applause; acclaim your God with cries of rejoicing.

quoniam Dominus excelsus, terribilis, rex magnus super omnem terram.

For the Lord is high, terrible: a great king over all the earth.

The Lord is high above us, and worthy of dread; he is the sovereign Ruler of all the earth;

Subjecit populos nobis, et gentes sub pedibus nostris.

He hath subdued the people under us; and the nations under our feet.

he has tamed the nations to our will, bowed the Gentiles at our feet,

Elegit nobis hæreditatem suam; speciem Jacob quam dilexit.

He hath chosen for us his inheritance, the beauty of Jacob which he hath loved.

claimed us for his own portion, Jacob the fair, the well beloved.

Ascendit Deus in jubilo, et Dominus in voce tubæ.

God is ascended with jubilee, and the Lord with the sound of trumpet.

God goes up, loud are the cries of victory; the Lord goes up, loudly the trumpets peal.

Psallite Deo nostro, psallite; psallite regi nostro, psallite:

Sing praises to our God, sing ye: sing praises to our king, sing ye.

A psalm, a psalm for our God, a psalm, a psalm for our King!

quoniam rex omnis terræ Deus, psallite sapienter.

For God is the king of all the earth: sing ye wisely.

God is King of all the earth; sound the hymn of praise!

Regnabit Deus super gentes; Deus sedet super sedem sanctam suam.

God shall reign over the nations: God sitteth on his holy throne.

God reigns over the heathen, God sits enthroned in holiness.

Principes populorum congregati sunt cum Deo Abraham, quoniam dii fortes terræ vehementer elevati sunt.

The princes of the people are gathered together, with the God of Abraham: for the strong gods of the earth are exceedingly exalted.

The rulers of the nations throw in their lot with us, that worship Abraham’s God; a God so high, he has all earth’s princes for his vassals.
