| 1 In finem, pro filiis Core. Psalmus. | 1 Unto the end, for the sons of Core. | 1 (To the choir-master. Of the sons of Core. A psalm.) |
| 2 Omnes gentes, plaudite manibus; jubilate Deo in voce exsultationis: | 2 O clap your hands, all ye nations: shout unto God with the voice of joy, | 2 Clap your hands, all you nations, in applause; acclaim your God with cries of rejoicing. |
| 3 quoniam Dominus excelsus, terribilis, rex magnus super omnem terram. | 3 For the Lord is high, terrible: a great king over all the earth. | 3 The Lord is high above us, and worthy of dread; he is the sovereign Ruler of all the earth; |
| 4 Subjecit populos nobis, et gentes sub pedibus nostris. | 4 He hath subdued the people under us; and the nations under our feet. | 4 he has tamed the nations to our will, bowed the Gentiles at our feet, |
| 5 Elegit nobis hæreditatem suam; speciem Jacob quam dilexit. | 5 He hath chosen for us his inheritance, the beauty of Jacob which he hath loved. | 5 claimed us for his own portion, Jacob the fair, the well beloved. |
| 6 Ascendit Deus in jubilo, et Dominus in voce tubæ. | 6 God is ascended with jubilee, and the Lord with the sound of trumpet. | 6 God goes up, loud are the cries of victory; the Lord goes up, loudly the trumpets peal. |
| 7 Psallite Deo nostro, psallite; psallite regi nostro, psallite: | 7 Sing praises to our God, sing ye: sing praises to our king, sing ye. | 7 A psalm, a psalm for our God, a psalm, a psalm for our King! |
| 8 quoniam rex omnis terræ Deus, psallite sapienter. | 8 For God is the king of all the earth: sing ye wisely. | 8 God is King of all the earth; sound the hymn of praise! |
| 9 Regnabit Deus super gentes; Deus sedet super sedem sanctam suam. | 9 God shall reign over the nations: God sitteth on his holy throne. | 9 God reigns over the heathen, God sits enthroned in holiness. |
| 10 Principes populorum congregati sunt cum Deo Abraham, quoniam dii fortes terræ vehementer elevati sunt. | 10 The princes of the people are gathered together, with the God of Abraham: for the strong gods of the earth are exceedingly exalted. | 10 The rulers of the nations throw in their lot with us, that worship Abraham’s God; a God so high, he has all earth’s princes for his vassals. |
